Important information about how Osangrand interacts with food and food supplements:
"The oral bioavailability of ibandronic acid (Osagrand) is reduced in the presence of food. Animal studies show that the absorption of ibandronic acid can be affected especially by products containing calcium and other multivalent cations (such as aluminum, magnesium, iron), including
milk. Therefore, patients should fasting (do not eat for at least 6 hours) and refrain from eating for 1 hour after taking ibandronic acid before taking ibandronic acid.
Calcium supplements (e.g. Molekin Osteo), antacids and some other oral medicinal products containing polyvalent cations (such as aluminium, magnesium, iron) may affect the absorption of ibandronic acid. For this reason, no oral medicinal products should be taken for at least 6 hours before and 1 hour after taking ibandronic acid."
