Yes, Aribit (aripiprazole) can cause drowsiness, especially after the first doses or when increasing the dose, however, such young children are very sensitive to drugs that act on the central nervous system. If your child has fallen asleep unusually quickly or is sleeping for a very long time, it is worth contacting your attending physician.
In general, Aripiprazole is not recommended in children below 13 years of age due to a lack of adequate data on safety and efficacy in this age group. Drowsiness and rapid falling asleep after administration may be a symptom of a sedative effect, which may be more pronounced in younger children. Such use requires a very careful evaluation and consultation with a pediatrician or child psychiatrist.
