This question should be directed to the doctor who conducts your treatment. Your doctor may recommend a different dosage than recommended in the leaflet, especially if the lowest dose of the preparation has a beneficial therapeutic effect.
As recommended in the summary of product characteristics, the dose of Wegovy is increased within 16 weeks of starting treatment gradually and under medical supervision (to avoid adverse reactions).
"A maintenance dose of semaglutide of 2.4 mg once weekly is achieved starting at a starting dose of 0.25 mg. To reduce the likelihood of gastrointestinal symptoms, the starting dose should be gradually increased over 16 weeks until a maintenance dose of 2.4 mg once weekly is reached. If severe gastrointestinal symptoms occur, consideration should be given to delaying dose escalation or returning to the previous dose until symptoms have improved. Doses higher than 2.4 mg per week are not recommended."
