Rybelsus and Wegovy are prescription drugs, so the doctor decides whether to use them.
However, the registration indications for the listed products are not identical:
Rybelsus is approved for use in adults with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control, including adequate diet and exercise.
In turn, the registration indication of Wegovy is weight control (indicated for use together with a diet with a reduced caloric value and increased physical exercise).
