Yes, every senior can get vaccinated against RSV for free at a pharmacy. There are two vaccines available, both of which are free for people 65+.
RSV vaccines contain the virus's recombinant F protein, which stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies without causing infection. Both are safe for seniors. In addition, both vaccines have been reimbursed since October 1, 2025.
Any adult can get vaccinated at a pharmacy and the service is free of charge.
Abrysvo is free of charge for pregnant women and seniors over 65 years of age. Reimbursed for people over 60 years of age (price PLN 408.86), and for adults under 60 years of age - fully paid (price PLN 817.72).
Arexvy is free for seniors from 65 years of age, reimbursed for people between 60 and 65 years of age (price 408.86 PLN) and fully paid for people between 50 and 60 years of age (price 817.72 PLN). This vaccine is not used in pregnant women and people under 50 years of age.

Therefore, seniors can get vaccinated for free in pharmacies, all they need is a PESEL number.
In both cases, taking one dose of the vaccine is enough to achieve immunity.

In the case of seniors, a pharmacist at a pharmacy, after verifying the PESEL number and the patient's insurance status, can issue a reimbursed pharmaceutical prescription for a free Abrysvo vaccine for seniors, as part of the Medicines 65+ program or with a 50% discount for a person between 60 and 65 years of age. The vaccine will then be administered at the pharmacy as soon as the prescription is issued. The vaccine administration service is paid – usually about PLN 30-50, depending on the price list of a given pharmacy.

It is indicated for adults aged 50 to 59 years with an increased risk of developing the disease caused by RSV and adults aged 60 and older. Since it is not on the list of reimbursed drugs, its prices in pharmacies may vary. Depending on the pharmacy, it costs from PLN 880 to PLN 1300 per dose.
