Can I reduce the dose of Akineton?
Good morning I would like to ask you why Akineton 4 mg I can't halve it?
My mother started using it yesterday.

I understand that Akineton SR 4 mg extended-release tablets are used. This tablet should not be divided due to the loss of pharmacokinetics, i.e. prolonged release.
The doctor decides whether to change the dose of the preparation, if the patient does not tolerate the effects of Akineton well, it should be reported to a specialist in order to correct the treatment and choose the appropriate dose.
Treatment with Akineton usually starts at a dose of 2 mg and gradually increases it. Once the optimal dose has been established, treatment with Akineton 4 mg prolonged-release is initiated.
