I've been taking Liberelle tablets (for 2 years), I'm halfway through the package and I got sick, so I took an antibiotic today. I know that it weakens the contraceptive effect and you need to protect yourself additionally.
Should I still take liberelle tablets every day while using an antibiotic?
Full protection will return only after the new packaging is started ?

Please continue taking Liberelle as usual. There is no need to modify the schedule of hormonal contraceptives during antibiotic therapy.
As for the effectiveness of hormonal contraception during the use of antibiotics - current studies have confirmed that antibiotics from the rifamycin group (rifampicin, rifabutin, rifaximin) weaken the effectiveness of hormonal contraception.
However, we do not have any reports on the negative impact of the use of other antibiotics and chemotherapeutics on the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. Many experts believe that too few studies have been conducted to completely rule out the possible effects of other antibiotics on the effects of hormonal contraceptives.
Therefore, it is recommended that during antibiotic therapy and one week after its completion, additional barrier forms of contraception, such as a condom, should be used.
