Is it possible to cure syphilis with doxycycline or should it be used in combination with doxycycline? penicillin? Since I realized that the mechanism of action is different for them. Does doxycycline kill syphilis or just prevent it from multiplying? Thank you for your reply

Doxycycline is an antibiotic with bacteriostatic activity. Bacteriostatic drugs inhibit the growth and multiplication of microorganisms, but do not directly kill existing cells. The bacteriostatic mechanism of action of doxycycline is to inhibit protein synthesis at the ribosome level. This is an alternative treatment for syphilis in case the patient is allergic to penicillin.
The basic method of treatment is the administration of an antibiotic from the penicillin group - the type of drug and dosage is determined individually - depending on the stage of the disease.

Treatment should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor. If you do not have the opportunity to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here (the consultation takes place in Polish):
