Theoretically, both preparations contain alpha-lipoic acid, while Thionerv is a dietary supplement and Neurolipon MIP is a prescription drug. With the above information in mind, I suggest that you follow your doctor's recommendations. Alpha-lipoic acid is used to treat sensory disorders in the extremities, m.in. diabetic neuropathy.
