Do probiotics affect the result of a stool test?
Is it possible to perform a stool test (general, culture, for parasites) while taking a probiotic? Do these studies require temporary discontinuation of any medication?

There are no contraindications to perform a stool test while administering a probiotic to a child. Probiotics do not falsify the test result, e.g. for parasites, intestinal function or the presence of pathogenic bacteria.
