Hello, today I was with my child at the doctor .my daughter 7l was prescribed Octeangin .is this drug safe for such a small child ?she has to take it 3 times a day for 5 days .

The safety and efficacy of Octeangin in children aged 0 to 11 years have not yet been established. Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above should slowly dissolve one hard lozenge in the mouth every 2-3 hours. In my opinion, according to the SmPC, Octeangin should not be used in a child aged 7 years. If your doctor has prescribed the medication and is aware of your child's age, consult him or her again if possible and ask if he or she thinks this practice is safe.
