If there is no excessive tension, the drug does not act on the facial muscles. "It suppresses or significantly relieves centrally induced tensions: in spastic heightened tensions, lowers passive muscle resistance during stretching, and either lowers or removes residual tension. It also acts as a visceral muscle relaxant: especially proven for the uterus."
