Good morning. I'm already 3 weeks after the removal of the cyst in my jaw. I still have dissolvable sutures. I finished the antibiotic Augumentin 2 weeks ago, I took it for a week. I took painkillers on an ad hoc basis. I'm not taking medication at the moment. If I have stitches, can I have a glass of wine or a beer? I'm going to a birthday party and I'm wondering if it won't be a problem after such a long time. Thank you for your reply. Best regards

If it is not necessary, it is better to give up alcohol consumption (especially in large quantities) until the stitches are removed and the wound is fully healed.
After the stitches are placed, the healing process takes place. During this time, it is not advisable to consume alcohol, as it impairs the regeneration of the skin. In addition, alcohol weakens immunity, which is associated with a higher risk of infection. Therefore, alcohol consumption significantly prolongs the healing process, which increases the risk of life-threatening complications.
