Good morning. My daughter was given ntybiotic and cetroxal plus for perforated otitis from an ENT specialist. The leaflet says not to use with a damaged eardrum. I don't understand if you can't use it, why did she prescribe it if her daughter has a damaged membrane.

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics of Cetraxal Plus, hypersensitivity to the active substances ciprofloxacin or fluocinolone acetonide or another quinolone antibacterial substance or to any of the excipients is contraindicated, as well as viral infections of the external auditory canal, including chickenpox and herpes simplex infection and fungal infection of the ear.
In case of perforation of the eardrum, the drug should be used with caution.
