Endovelle contains dienogest, which is an antiandrogenic derivative of nortestosterone. Dienogest binds to the progesterone receptor
localized in the human uterus, thanks to which it reduces the production of estradiol and thus inhibits the trophic effect of estradiol on the eutopic and ectopic endometrium.
After starting treatment with Endovelle, changes in the bleeding profile such as spotting, irregular bleeding or absence of menstruation may occur. During the first 90 days of treatment with dienogest 2 mg, amenorrhea was observed in 1.7% of patients.
