Can I take Emaner instead of Prenome?

Good morning, mom has diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treated with R-CHOP (third chemotherapy taken), encorton 1x daily 20mg (for 5 days after chemo after 100mg), 2xdaily heviran 800mg, 3 weeks biseptol 960mg, 1xdaily milurit 100mg. Besides, it accepts nebivolek 1.25 and rosucard 10. The doctor prescribed Prenome 20mg, but at home we have Emanera 20mg, can you take interchangeably? In connection with the use of Emanera and encorton, we are wondering whether to include vitamin D3 4000 instead of 2000? Best regards

You can use Emanera 20 mg to replace Prenome 20 mg. These drugs should not show significant therapeutic differences. The esomeprazole contained in Emanera contains only the S form of omepraozlu, i.e. the active ingredient Prenome (it contains two forms of the molecule - S and R), but studies have not shown a difference in their metabolism and action. According to NICE guidelines, esomeprazole 20 mg is therapeutically equivalent to omeprazole 20 mg. However, it is worth informing about the change of the attending physician. The use of Emanera and Encorton is not an indication to increase the dose of vitamin D3. In order to choose the right dose of the vitamin, it is worth testing the level of total 25-hydroxy vitamin D – vitamin 25 (OH) D.
