According to the summary of product characteristics, Progesterone Beisins should not be used during breastfeeding because no specific studies on the excretion of progesterone in breast milk have been conducted. Duphaston should also not be used during lactation, because, as the manufacturer indicates, "it is not known whether Duphaston passes into the milk of nursing women and whether it affects the baby. Studies in other progestogens have shown excretion of a small amount of the drug in the milk of nursing women." Therefore, it is contraindicated to use this drug during breastfeeding. Ovitrelle contains a synthetic form of the natural human hormone chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which has a half-life of approximately 30 hours after subcutaneous administration, which means that after 30 hours after taking the medicine, the concentration of the medicine substance in the blood decreases to half of its initial value. This parameter is one of the values used to assess the excretion of the drug into breast milk. According to the database, which collects information on the safety of drugs during lactation, this drug has a high molecular weight, which affects the small probability of its penetration into breast milk and no side effects have been noted in infants. However, the manufacturer in the characteristics of the drug Ovitrelle does not recommend using it during breastfeeding, so for safety reasons, please wait about 7-10 days after taking the drug, when it is eliminated from the body and return to breastfeeding.
