Is a dose of 500mg of Azycyna suitable for a child 10 years old, 35kg?
19.99 zł

Son 10 years old, body weight 35kg, bilateral otitis and pharyngitis. He was given Azycin 500mg 1 tablet for 6 days, where the leaflet says that it is written for use in children weighing over 45kg. Now I have doubts whether to give this 1 tablet a day.

Regarding dosage, follow the information obtained from your doctor. Please note that the dose depends on the severity of the infection, the sensitivity of the microorganism causing the infection, the patient's condition, age and weight. Only a doctor can therefore make decisions on this topic, because he knows the state of health of his patient. Knowledge about age and body weight is insufficient information. Too low a dose may be ineffective and instead of curing, it will only cause bacterial resistance to this antibiotic. Too high a dose can be harmful and cause increased side effects. If you are unable to get to your paediatrician, the GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja The GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to book Azycyna in the nearest stationary pharmacy and pick up after presenting a prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/8460/azycyna-tabletki-powlekane/apteki?pvid=87933
