In order for a medicine or medical device to be reimbursed, its manufacturer must submit an appropriate application to the Ministry of Health. Not every manufacturer decides to do this, because the procedure is multi-stage. Only after such an application has been submitted can the ministry undertake to assess whether the technology is suitable for reimbursement within the budget allocated for this purpose.
