I was prescribed Absenor (a mild form of bipolar disorder) - is it a good medicine for such conditions?
Good morning. I was consulted by a psychiatrist about mood disorders, suspected cyclothymia/"mild" form of bipolar disorder. I was prescribed Absenor. Is it considered a good cure for such conditions? Opinions on the Internet are either strongly negative or missing. I kindly ask for advice

Absenor is a medicine used to exacerbate bipolar disorder (especially when manic episodes occur). Like any medicine, Absenor can cause side effects, but it is not said that they will appear in the case of your treatment. It is difficult to assess whether the drug will be effective in the treatment of your disorder - this decision was made by a psychiatrist based on medical history, so I assume that he found specific reasons why he prescribed such a substance. If you are afraid of the use of this preparation, I suggest you discuss any doubts with your doctor. It is worth remembering that Absenor is strictly contraindicated in pregnancy and contraception should be used during the course of treatment.
