These drugs are not their substitutes. They contain other active substances and should not be used alternately without consulting a doctor. Amlopin contains amlodipine, Carnidin - lercanidipine. Both drugs are used for hypertension. As the research shows: "Compared to traditional CCB drugs (e.g. amlodipine), lercanidipine has a unique effect on glomerular arterioles. This drug not only expands afferent arterioles (similar to amlodipine), in which L-type calcium channels predominate, but also draining arterioles, with a predominance of T-type calcium channels, lowering the pressure in the glomeruli. This effect probably causes a decrease or resolution of proteinuria and inhibition of the progression of renal failure. Lercanidipine in comparison with dihydropyridine derivatives (lacidipine, amlodipine) shows the highest selectivity in relation to T-type calcium channels." Therefore, due to their different mechanisms of action, these drugs should not be considered as counterparts.
