Epidemic of the 21st century - this is how diabetes can be described in a nutshell, and in particular its incidence in recent years and the tendency to increase the number of people with it in the future. Over the last 35 years, the number of people with diabetes has increased by almost 50%. Every year, more people die from diabetes in the world than in total from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. In Poland, as many as 2% of Poles die every year due to diabetic complications. Even worse, about 30% of patients do not know that they are sick at all.
