I live in England I take amitriptyline 20mg and the doctor added mirtazapine to me I'm afraid if you can take them together

Do not use Amitriptyline and Mirtazapine at the same time unless your doctor has told you to. Does the doctor know about the use of both drugs? Did he modify the doses of drugs? Or should you gradually get off one drug and start another? If medicines have been prescribed by different doctors, consultation with them is necessary to determine whether these medicines can be used at the same time. If so, your doctor may make other recommendations on how to use them. From a pharmacological point of view, the use of both drugs may increase the risk of a rare but severe condition called serotonin syndrome. Symptoms include confusion, hallucinations, seizures, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, chills, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. This is not a common occurrence, but you should be aware of it and if you experience such symptoms, contact your doctor urgently. Please do not stop taking any of the medicines yourself, but use them as directed by your doctor. Perhaps, in your case, the combination of drugs according to the doctor will bring benefits that outweigh the possible risks.
