The doctor is not sure if it is otitis, but recommended Dicortineff. Should I use the medicine?

The doctor prescribed drops to his son (17 months) because he found that the right ear was red and that it would not turn into otitis. I would like to add that my son is currently getting 5 teeth at once, which the Dr. said that it can also be a symptom of redness of the ear. As it is a drug, and in addition a steroid, I am afraid to give it to him. The more that the doctor is not sure that it is otitis, she only stated that it is reddened. What should I do?

If you ask about Dicortineff, then if the doctor has examined the child and prescribed such treatment, I see no reason not to follow his recommendations. Dicortineff contains antibiotics and a corticosteroid and can be used for inflammation of the ear if your doctor sees the need. The drug is generally not recommended to use for more than 7 days.
