Benzyldimethyl[3-(myristoylamino)propyl]ammonium chloride monohydrate is a substance belonging to the group of cationic antiseptics, surfactants (quaternary ammonium compounds), which has a strong antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect. This compound is found, m.in in Oftamirin eye drops, but this preparation is not available on the Polish market. This compound is effective against various pathogens, including: both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, fungi (e.g. Candida) or viruses (e.g. Herpes simplex). The mechanism of action of this substance is to damage the outer shell of the microorganism, which consequently leads to its destruction. All preparations showing antimicrobial activity, in the form of eye drops, are available in Poland only with a doctor's prescription. In this case, you should contact a doctor who will prescribe appropriate treatment. It is worth noting that we do not have a substance available in Poland with such a wide effect in the form of an eye preparation. I enclose a link to the article in which the drops present on the Polish market are described: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/krople-do-oczu.
