When used correctly, hormonal contraception works all the time, not just a few hours after taking the pill. Axia Forte is not a tablet for emergency use - it is effective if taken in accordance with the leaflet and systematically. If a woman does not follow the described rules, then the drug may not work at all, regardless of the time at which it was taken. If you are just starting to use Axia Forte, first of all, please check that you have started your blister correctly: "You should start taking Axia Forte on the first day of your cycle (i.e. on the first day of menstruation). If you start taking Axia Forte on the first day of your period, you will be immediately protected from pregnancy. It is also possible to start using the drug on the 2nd-5th day of the cycle, but then additional methods of protection (e.g. a condom) should be used for the first 7 days of using the drug. Next: "Take one tablet of Axia Forte every day, with a small amount of water if necessary. The tablets can be taken with or between meals, but should be taken every day at a similar time. Blister contains 21 tablets. Next to each tablet is printed the day of the week on which it should be taken. For example, if you start taking the tablets on Wednesday, take the tablet marked "Avg". Move in the direction of the arrow on the blister until you have taken all 21 tablets from the blister. After that, you should not take the tablets for another 7 days. During this 7-day break (also known as the week of the break), bleeding should begin. This so-called "withdrawal bleeding" usually begins on the 2nd or 3rd day of the break week. On the 8th day after taking the last tablet of Axia Forte (i.e. after a 7-day break), you should start taking the tablets from the next blister, regardless of whether the bleeding has stopped. This means that each subsequent blister should be started on the same day of the week and that withdrawal bleeding should occur on the same days as the month. If you take Axia Forte as described above, you will also be protected from pregnancy for 7 days when you are not taking the tablets." I am attaching information about Axia Forte. The preparation can be booked via GdziePoLek, and then picked up stationary after presenting a prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/92365/axia-forte-tabletki-powlekane/apteki/w-warszawie However, information on the general principles of using contraception can be found in our study: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
