Will Microgynon help with menopausal symptoms?
Good morning, I am 47 years old for several months I have been noticing symptoms of menopause. However, the last month has been a nightmare for me, I can not cope with emotions at all, especially anxiety. I got Microgynon 21 from my gynecologist with a recommendation to start using it on the first day of the cycle. I expect menstruation in about 10 days - although it's been a lottery lately. My question is whether I can take the pills earlier and whether they will help me because I feel that I am already in complete disarray. Thank you very much for your reply.

Taking Microgynon tablets should be started on the 1st day of the natural menstrual cycle (i.e. on the first day of menstrual bleeding). You can also start between the 2nd and 5th day of the menstrual cycle, but in this case, during the first cycle for the first 7 days of taking the pills, it is recommended to use additional mechanical contraception. Even if Microgynon is not used for contraception, the manufacturer does not recommend a method of starting a blister other than the one described. The beginning of therapy in the middle of the cycle could be recommended only by a gynecologist. If he has not issued such recommendations, then you should follow the leaflet. You can, of course, also consult him again. Microgynon are pills that will provide sex hormones in a constant, daily dose, and during the break there will be withdrawal bleeding. Your cycle will therefore be regular and there should be no fluctuations in hormones. If the emotional disturbances and anxiety result from the fact that your menopausal period begins, then the drug can bring calming down these symptoms.
