When will Diphergan syrup be available for sale in pharmacies? Are Diphergan tablets at a dose of 10 mg difficult to swallow? What size are they? Are gentamycin intramuscular injections plus Lugnocainum anesthetic given from one puncture or from two punctures?

Lignocainum hydrochloridum is incompatible and should not be mixed in a single syringe with solutions containing sodium bicarbonate and other alkaline solutions. Gentamycin Krka: - The active substance of the drug is gentamicin. 1 ml of solution for injection and infusion (1 ampoule of 1 ml) contains 40 mg of gentamicin sulphate. 2 ml of solution for injection and infusion (1 ampoule of 2 ml) contain 80 mg of gentamicin as sulphate. - The other ingredients are: methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), disodium edetate, sodium pyrosulphite (E 223), water for injections. β-lactam antibiotics can inactivate gentamicin in vitro, so they should not be mixed in the same bottle with intravenous fluid. Gentamicin should also not be mixed with erythromycin, heparin and sodium bicarbonate. Both the manufacturer gentamycin Krka and Lignocainum hydrochloridum WZF do not inform about pharmacological incompatibilities resulting from the mixing of these two drugs. If lignocaine is given for anesthesia before an antibiotic injection, it should be given separately in the first place.

Thank you. I asked about Gentamicin by intramuscular injection, not by infusion. So, are Gentamycin in the form of intramuscular injections in the buttock plus Lignocainum anesthesia administered from one puncture or from two punctures?

The manufacturer informs that Diphergan syrup will be unavailable until December this year. Information about this medicine can be followed here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/23840/diphergan-syrop There is also a box in the tab to check if you are interested in notifications about new information about the availability of the drug. At the moment, the equivalent of Diphergan syrup - Polfergan is available, containing the same amount of promethazine hydrochloride, i.e. 5 mg / 5ml. Diphergan 10 mg tablets are coated tablets, covered with a coating that facilitates swallowing, they are round and biconvex, quite small - they are not difficult to swallow. Gentamicin solution for infusion is always administered individually, it should not be mixed with other drugs due to the incompatibilities occurring, so Gentamicin and Lignocaine should be administered separately (anesthetic in the first place).
