Hello, I am 31 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, I got an infection (before pregnancy I had recurrent candida albocans infections). First I got pimafucin, unfortunately it did not help so I got clotrimazolum vaginal tablets Can I use an additional oral probiotic when applying them? I will add that I took it throughout pregnancy to avoid possible recurrence of infection. Best regards

The use of a probiotic to maintain the normal bacterial flora of the vagina has much better results when using their vaginal form, there are probiotics available that are safe for pregnant women, such as Lacrovaginal or inVag - with drug status. There are no contraindications to the use of oral probiotic and topical antifungal treatment at the same time. Recurrent fungal infections in pregnancy are very common due to hormonal changes, favoring infections. A vaginal probiotic is best used after treatment. In order to enhance the effect of the drug, I recommend using a low-sugar diet (as far as possible), because it has been proven that sugar is a good breeding ground for the development of Candida microorganisms.
