If you are taking Calcort, you may have trouble getting pregnant. The drug Calcort contains in its composition a substance called deflazakort, which we include in glucocorticosteroids. The use of drugs from this group is associated with the possibility of inhibiting the pituitary gland, consequently leading m.in to a decrease in the amount of follicle maturation hormone (FSH, follitropin) and luteinizing hormone (LH, lutropin). These hormones play a key role in the menstrual cycle, hence their deficiency leads to menstrual disorders, decreased libido, fertility disorders. It is true that deflazakort is not a glucocorticosteroid that strongly inhibits pituitary functions, but in the case of higher doses or longer use, the risk of problems with getting pregnant increases. For my part, I suggest that before planning to enlarge your family, contact your doctor, who will make a decision about further therapy.
