Antidiarrheal preparations that can be used are, for example, Taninal and Tiorfan. Tanianl has an astringent effect, it will thicken feces and slow down intestinal motility. It is available in the form of tablets, the dosage for adults is 3 times a day 1 to 2 tablets, for children over 4 years and adolescents up to 18 years - 2 to 3 times a day 1/2 to 1 tablet. Tiorfan, available on prescription, reduces excessive secretion of water and electrolytes by the intestines, which leads to a thickening of feces. The dosage for adults is initially one capsule, regardless of the time of day. Then one capsule three times a day preferably before the main meals. Treatment should be continued until two normal stools are given. Treatment should not last more than 7 days. A drug with the same active substance for children is available under the name Hidrasec. I enclose a report on the availability of both drugs in Warsaw: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/78925/tiorfan-kapsulki/apteki/w-warszawie https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/77333/taninal-tabletki/apteki/w-warszawie Probiotics that can be used during chronic diarrhea in people with inflammatory bowel disease are preparations containing strains of bacteria m.in such as L. Rhamnosus GG, Saccharomyces boulardii, Lactobacillus acidophilus.
