Is the use of Flucofast at a dose of 200 mg for 30 days a threat to the embryo?

Can long-term use of Flukofast (30 days x 200mg) in the cycle when pregnancy occurred harm the embryo? Do fungicidal substances and toxins secreted by fungi accumulate in the endometrium? I also used externally boric acid in the form of Tormentile Forte ointment and caprylic acid. Should I worry?

To answer your question, I have read studies on the effects of oral fluconazole (Flucofast) on the fetus of patients taking it in the first trimester of pregnancy. I am aware that in your case we are definitely talking about the embryo, but I have not found more detailed studies relating to this stage of development. A cross-sectional, high-quality 2019 study found that the use of fluconazole in the first trimester of pregnancy may or may not be associated with harmful effects on the fetus. However, the evidence for this effect of this drug is weak. The authors of this study report that spontaneous miscarriages or fetal heart defects were observed in patients taking fluconazole in the first trimester of pregnancy. Such information may be worrying for you, so I want to clarify that the authors point out that such effects were rare and dependent on the dose of the drug used and other risk factors in the pregnant woman. I would also like to add that fluconazole is a drug used in pregnant women in clinical practice in a single dose of 150 mg in vaginal candidiasis - in the same study it was concluded that such treatment is not associated with risk to the fetus. The authors of the study I cited, however, recommend that women who took fluconazole in the first trimester of pregnancy should be under medical observation for possible side effects. I think the best solution will be to consult a gynecologist and determine whether the pregnancy is developing properly. I enclose a link to the study I used to answer your question: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31446677/
