What is the QR code on drug packaging used for?
Good morning, Yesterday I bought morphine tablets and exactly sevredol 20mg. While shopping out of curiosity, I asked the pharmacist what this small QR code, which is on the side on the packaging of sevrdol, is for. The seller got there quickly explained, even too quickly and I do not know if I understood correctly. Are this QR code and the SN and PC numbers on the packaging assigned to the patient? If, if a 3rd person found a box of the drug and a pharmacist in a pharmacy after checking the PC and SN data from the box, will he be able to identify the patient for whom the prescription was written? Kod QR, o który Pan pyta to unikalny identyfikator leku, zawierający podstawowe dane o danym opakowaniu produktu leczniczego takie jak:
- numer serii produktu,
- numer seryjny konkretnego opakowania,
- termin ważności,
- kod produktu - umożliwia rozpoznanie nazwy, nazwy zwyczajowej, postaci farmaceutycznej, mocy, wielkości opakowania i rodzaju opakowania.
Dodatkowo producenci muszą umieszczać zabezpieczenie przed nieuprawnionym otworzeniem. Może to być np. naklejka czy plomba. Jest to jednen z elementów Dyrektywy Fałszywkowej EU.
Przed wydaniem każdego leku pacjentowi farmaceuta musi zeskanować z pudełka kod QR. W ten sposób potwierdza autentyczność konkretnego opakowania. Jednocześnie też przypisuje informacje zawarte na recepcie do danego opakowania leku. Możliwe jest zatem zidentyfikowanie pacjenta na podstawie kodu QR z opakowania. Z tym, że takich informacji nie udzieli Panu przeciętna apteka. Informacje z aptek są przekazywane do Krajowej Organizacji Weryfikacji Autentyczności Leków (KOWAL) i tylko tam można uzyskać takie informacje.
