The literature does not provide specific time intervals during which the antiandrogenic effect of flutamide is observed after discontinuation of its use. The drug works as long as its active metabolites are present in the tissues, which show a specific effect on the receptors. Flutamide, by blocking the binding of one hormone (testosterone), affects other levels of the endocrine system at the same time. It may take a little longer to return to the normal secretory functions of the endocrine system than the metabolism of the drug itself. Due to the lack of specific data, I suggest waiting 3-4 weeks before you perform hormone level tests.
