Can I take Xyvelam if I have a history of depression?

Hello, I was prescribed Xyvelam 1 tablet 250mg per day for 7 days, the leaflet says to consult a doctor if 'the patient has ever had mental health problems'. Accordingly, Can I take the drug if I have had depression and what are the risks associated with it?

Xyvelam can cause insomnia - this is a common side effect of the drug. Mental disorders that are a side effect of treatment are rare and transient (e.g. nightmares or generalized anxiety/low mood). If there is currently no depressive episode or other psychological disorders (and the patient is mentally stable), the drug can be taken. In case of any doubts, I encourage you to consult the treatment strategy with the doctor who prescribed the treatment.
