The dosage of Febuxostat and the duration of prophylactic therapy after uric acid reduction depend on the individual patient's needs and response to treatment. The decision should be made by a doctor who is aware of the patient's full health situation.
Usually, in chronic gout, Febuxostat should be used at a dose of 40-80 mg once a day in combination with the prevention of gout attacks (e.g. with low-dose colchicine or NSAIDs). Such therapy can last up to 6 months.
It is important to consult your doctor regularly and follow their recommendations. Do not change your dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
