Do nothing. This is a natural healing process and the wound should be left to take place completely. Signs of epithelial regeneration usually occur in the second week of treatment.
A normal response to treatment includes: the early and severe phase of inflammation (usually characterized by erythema, which can be intense and with skin discoloration), the necrotic phase (characterized by erosion of the skin) and, finally, the healing stage.
