After instilling Cetraxal into the ear (in the child), there was a sharp pain and there was a nosebleed at night - is this normal?

When instilled into the ear (a 10-year-old child), there was a sharp pain in the ear, pain to the point of crying. At night, my nose started bleeding.
Is there a connection and is it normal?

Cetraxal can cause pain/discomfort in the ear after instillation - this is a common side effect. To alleviate the unpleasant sensations, it is a good idea to warm a bottle of liquid in your hand and instill the medicine at a temperature close to body temperature. Nosebleeds may not be associated with Cetraxal, especially if you have a runny nose and nasal congestion during the infection. If, after the next application of ear drops, the child continues to signal pain, a follow-up with a paediatrician is advisable.

If you have any doubts, I encourage you to take advantage of a teleconsultation with a paediatrician (the service is available on our website in the e-visit tab):
