Good morning, I would like to ask you to explain what exactly the letter A means before the "potency" of the drug on the following recommendation for use:
"2 x 1/2 tabl a 100 mg" - does this mean that I have to take 1/2 tablet of 100 mg twice a day? What if I have a 200 mg drug? Should I then take 1/4 tabletkti at a time?

The letter "a" before the dose is the Latin "after". So this notation should be understood 2 times a day for half a tablet of 100mg.
If you have 200 mg tablets, you should take them 1/4 tabl. I don't know if the manufacturer has provided such possibilities of dividing the tablet (usually indicated by the dividing line on the tablet). Otherwise, I encourage you to use a guillotine.
