The form of the drug used to treat dandruff depends on the individual patient's preferences.
Currently, there are lotions, creams and shampoos available on the market.
In pityriasis versicolor, topical or systemic antifungal drugs are used.
Depending on the place of application of the preparation, we select the most convenient form of the drug. The most important issue in this case is not so much the form of the drug, but the substance it contains.
Anti-dandruff shampoos containing ketoconazole, clotrimazole, econazole, octopirox, selenium sulfide, zinc pititonate are used in pityriasis versicolor. After foaming, the shampoo should be left on the surface of the skin for a few minutes and rinsed off. Azole derivatives in creams are also effective. Then the cream is applied to the affected skin.
In case of long-term infection or worsening of lesions, oral therapy is indicated.
I would advise you to consult your symptoms with a dermatologist who will help you choose the most effective therapy and, if necessary, write a prescription for oral therapy.
