Does Tiaprid help in the reduction of tics?
My 12-year-old son has been diagnosed with tics for four years. For a week he has been taking tiaprid half a tablet twice a day and without improvement. Does this drug work on tics?

My daughter 17.5 years was supposed to take 1/4 tablet a day and every week increase the dose by 1/4 until the tics stopped. At the moment he takes 3/4 in the morning and 1/2 in the evening. I think you need to increase the dose . Yours sincerely Ania

Tiaprid belongs to a group of drugs called neuroleptics, studies show that the use of preparations from this group significantly reduces the occurrence of tics. Available studies also show that thiapride used in children showed a significant reduction in tics. Although the leaflet of Tiaprid does not contain an indication for use such as tics, the drug can be taken outside the generally accepted recommendations.
