With ulcerative colitis, the antibiotic Augmentin can only be taken if there is an indication of its administration. We do not use antibiotics prophylactically, without specific reasons. If there are doubts about the use of antibiotics, it is worth consulting your gastroenterologist, who knows the treatment and will assess whether the disease is in exacerbation or remission. If the disease is "dormant" - otherwise in remission there are no specific contraindications to the use of antibiotics. As for contraception and antibiotic use, it is assumed that additional contraception should be used during antibiotic therapy and 7 days after stopping treatment.
