Should the occurrence of spotting after about 2 years of using Evra patches be worrying?

Hello, I have been using Evra patches for about 2 years. On Sundays I glued 3 slices. On Wednesday I had a slight spotting that lasted a while and today (Thursday) stronger spotting occurred and lower abdominal pain, for the period. Should I be worried?

Irregular spotting is one of the side effects of Evra patches. The occurrence of spotting does not affect the contraceptive effectiveness of the patches. I encourage you to report side effects. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote more about how and why to report side effects in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane If mid-cycle spotting occurs after about 2 years of using Evra patches, it is recommended to consult a gynecologist: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/28646/evra-system-transdermalny/apteki You can also use the teleadvice offered m.in by the Gdziepolek.pl portal: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja I encourage you to familiarize yourself with additional materials that may be useful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/antykoncepcja-hormonalna
