In assessing the overall health of the heart, imaging tests such as ECG, X-ray or echo of the heart and blood pressure measurement, supplemented by selected laboratory tests, seem to be the most helpful. I would suggest that you communicate with your cardiologist or family doctor what tests may be useful in your individual situation. Performing a large number of tests "on your own" may overburden your budget, without a real impact on diagnostic effectiveness. However, diagnostic laboratories offer test panels referred to as "cardiac profile" or "cardiac package". They include various studies - more specialized, but also characterizing the general state of health. For example, a lipidogram (lipid profile) will not directly indicate whether the heart is healthy, but it can help estimate the risk of atherosclerosis and the development of coronary artery disease or heart attack. The heart panel may also include such tests as: - assessment of the level of electrolytes: sodium, potassium and magnesium, because their disorders can negatively affect the work of the heart - fasting glucose concentration - D-dimers - their level is associated with thrombotic processes - homocysteine - increased level is associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases - troponin I (hs cTnI) - is used to detect myocardial necrosis, can be helpful in the diagnosis of myocardial insufficiency of various origins - measurement of creatine kinase (CK) - measurement of the concentration of ASPAT and ALAT enzymes On the preparation for the blood test, you will read in our study: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-przygotowac-sie-do-badania-krwi I also attach additional material:
