Is it not possible to smoke cigarettes at Ginoring?
Hello, yesterday I set up ginoring. Unfortunately, the gynecologist did not inform me about the fact that with discs of this type you can not smoke cigarettes. I read it in the manual only after inserting the disc. The puck is located very deep in the vagina – is it ok? Everywhere in the pictures is shown putting on the disc like a tampon, which is a little different than it looks to me. Does occasional smoking disqualify me from this way of protection? If I want to change the puck to spirals, when is the best time?

Cigarette smoking is a risk factor for blood clots in the arteries when using contraception such as Ginoring, as is age over 35, overweight, hypertension, circulatory problems, and more. As you read in the leaflet: "When using a hormonal contraceptive such as Ginoring, it is recommended that you stop smoking. If you are unable to stop smoking and are over the age of 35, your doctor may recommend that you use another type of contraception." If you smoke only occasionally, then starting to use hormonal contraception is a great opportunity to completely stop smoking. If you are unable to stop smoking, you should discuss the safety of Ginoring with your gynecologist again. The location of the disc in the vagina is not relevant to its contraceptive effect. It is important that it does not interfere and does not protrude.
