Are Vines contraceptive pills?

Is pregnancy protection maintained? I'm 21 years old and I'm a virgin. I have been struggling with painful menstruation for several years now. Two months ago I was with this problem at the gynecologist and received vines birth control pills. After a while, I decided that I would like to start inexisting with my boyfriend soon. Do the pills prescribed to me to eliminate painful menstruation also protect me from pregnancy? I did not mention the planned inexisting to the doctor. I don't have any side effects, the pills I take regularly. I am not able to make another visit any time soon 😐
