Its activity can be an indicator of their damage or inflammation. Creatine kinase is examined from serum by taking blood from a vein located in the elbow fossa. This examination is ordered by a doctor. The patient for the examination should be on an empty stomach. Before performing the test, you should inform your doctor about the vitamins, medicines and dietary supplements that may affect the result of the test. With an increase in creatine kinase, which does not exceed 4 times the upper limit of normal, it is advisable to discontinue Zahron for 2-4 weeks. If, after their expiry, the symptoms continue to persist, it means that they were not caused by the statin and we can return to taking it. If the ailments decrease, another or a second statin is ordered as an additional drug (e.g. atorvastatin) in the initial dose. When symptoms recur, we use a low dose of a third statin or atorvastatin or rosuvastatin (Zahron) every other day or less. If creatine kinase exceeds 4 times the norm, the drug should be discontinued for 6 weeks, after which its low low dose, e.g. 5 mg, should be used. If, after this time, the symptoms have subsided, we use a low dose of Zahron or alternatively we can use it every other day or less often - once or twice a week.
