The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) while taking escitalopram is not contraindicated, but it should be borne in mind that this combination carries an increased risk of bleeding. If you have a history of bleeding, including gastrointestinal bleeding, special caution should be exercised when using NSAIDs.
You can use NSAIDs on an ad hoc basis, e.g. diclofenac, dexketoprofen, bearing in mind the above risk of interactions. At your next appointment, it is advisable to consult with your doctor which painkiller/anti-inflammatory medication would be most suitable for you.
One of the safer options for treating back pain while taking escitalopram is to take paracetamol orally (it does not have an anti-inflammatory effect) and to use topical patches or gels with analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
