Is zoloft safe for reactive hypoglycemia? I read in the leaflet that the drug has an effect on sugar.

Zoloft is an antidepressant from the group of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Like many other medications, Zoloft may have some effect on blood sugar levels, however, it is not clearly associated with reactive hypoglycemia. The effects of Zoloft on blood sugar can vary and usually involve an increased risk of hyperglycaemia (elevated blood sugar) in some people at risk. Reactive hypoglycemia is a condition in which blood sugar levels fall well below normal after eating a meal, and then symptoms such as weakness, tremors, sweating and others may occur. For this reason, doctors try to carefully assess the potential benefits and risks before prescribing this drug to people with flu risk. It is difficult to say unequivocally whether this will happen in this case, especially on the basis of such a short description. Please note that it is important not to stop your treatment with Zoloft without consulting your doctor.
