Can sodium butyrate aggravate bloating?

I started taking sodium butyrate to get rid of the constant abdominal bloating. But these bloating intensified even more. Even in the morning I have a bloated stomach, which was not there before. What to do? Plus, I'm still hungry. I've been on metformin for 10 years.

After 5 days of supplementation with sodium butyrate, severe flatulence and, as a result, unbearable abdominal pain, no analgesics or antispasmodics worked and I ended up in the ER. Nevermore!!!! I don't know why there is no side effects in the leaflet, on the sites.

I also noticed increased flatulence and belching after taking sodium butyrate (Tributron preparation, later I tried Ibesan butyrate forte). I have sibo and I wanted to see if it would help me with diarrhea. This is clearly due to supplementation, after discontinuation the problem decreases, after taking bloating appears and it is quite strong. I do not know why it is not written anywhere, only that there are no side effects...

According to scientific research, the use of 300 mg of butyric acid per day helped to significantly reduce the frequency of spontaneous abdominal pain after 4 weeks, and after 12 weeks – to reduce the frequency of spontaneous abdominal pain, abdominal pain during defecation and urge to stool after defecation. Therefore, you can expect the first effects of therapy after 4 weeks.
